im guessing most of u are dallas fans here and i live in the st.louis area and i’ll tell u exactly what u are getting in barron. hes a good OT, long arms and good mobility. that said his problem is at least 1 false start and 1 holding call pretty much every game AND HE PLAYS TO THE LEVEL OF HIS OPPONENT. if he played every play 100% u just got a pro bowler.

Barron can run …
Barron can run block dog. Steven Jackson had 5 straight 1,000 yard seasons with Barron at tackle. Jackson had 1500 in 06 and 1400 last year. He can play right and feft tackle. Now if Brewster and Young can develop, we can get rid of human turnstiles McQuisten and Proctor. Enough of these bozos. Why are they on the team?

@MrDaab23 oh and one more thing, this guy is on a one year option contract. if he sucks or can not help us he’s gone after this season. what is not to like? carpenter was going to get cut, at least this way we got something for him. if free goes down this guy has proven he can start in this league. this is the smartest trade the cowboys have done in recent memory.

@MrDaab23 that works both ways..what is barbie doing? he has no future here, who is really holding back the development of younger players? lol my money is on young not even making this roster, and brewster? do any of us a freaking clue what to expect out of a second year player who hasnt even been to a training camp yet? if brewster or young make it on the field this season, it is a season lost, don’t kid yourself.

@thedallascowboyshow This is a great trade! Now we have a guaranteed LT and RT between Free and Barron! Bobby was also kinda a bust because he never really got to play, but this is sick news! And if I was going from the Rams to the Cowboys, I would certainly be MOTIVATED!!

Hey, I’m glad we no longer have Barbie on the team, but this is about as big of a useless trade for Dallas that I have ever seen. At least Roy played for us. Barron? Well he will keep the bench warm while taking away precious snaps away from Brewster and Young.
I’m not a fan of bringing in LOSERS to stunt the development of Younger players. That’s all.

I’m excited to see …
I’m excited to see what Barron can do here. Like our ol’ boy Flo,
Alex might throw out some false starts, but false starts aside,
he’s been a starter for almost 6 full seasons & he looks very
comparable to Flo.
It’s definite depth for the position. I’m not 100% sold on Doug either.
All in all, a good move for Dallas. Good vid’ Shango.

Doug Free will win …
Doug Free will win the job! He’s good! He played great at RT all year, then out of the blue has to come in and play LT against Jared Allen, and only gives up 1 sack! Put Barron on LT, then give Free the RT job, or the other way around! Plus Free is a LT at heart, something about his feet!

Barron just has to be better than Robert Brewster for it to be a positive. But I believe in Hudson Houck and hope he can get the potential out of Barron.

He might do real good in STL…I thought Miami was a good fit for him last year. He just could not get out of Wade’s doghouse for some reason. Carp looked like the best player on the field in almost every training camp I went to. It just wasn’t working for him here for some reason.

Barbie may not be …
Barbie may not be able to afford that dream house in St Louis but that defense is a better fit for him than Dallas’ D. I still do not think the addition of Barron is a good thing. Why not go for a top dog LT like Jamal Brown from the saints or someone of probowl caliber. We need to protect Romo. That is the most important thing. If we don’t then we will lose.

right dharrrster…I don’t think no one is doing backflips but we all knew the team has been actively pursuing a trade for Carp for a couple of years now. He was not a part of our future plans and to get a guy that can add depth to our weakest position is a good move. If Alex Barron stinks too bad, he’ll get cut and we will lose nothing. Hell, Carp could have also been cut if they could not find a trade.

Yeah…he is like a Flo Jr….He’s young so it may be able to be fixed. Sometimes bad coaching is at fault and losing teams tend to have bad coaching. As for Carp..he too may pan out somewhere else, it just wasn’t working here and wasn’t gonna work.
